Under grillen

Valparna gillar att sova utomhus. Helst under grillen så nu skall vi lägga en filt där så att det blir lite mjukare.
En av dem har sniffat på den gula väggen så den har färgat av sig på nosen.

The puppies love a nap outside underneath the BBQ. It´s dark, cool and protected. We are going to put a nice blanket there today.

Mr Brown

Vi har lite bilder på Mr Brown från ikväll. Han har vuxit kraftigt den senaste tiden och väger nu 3660 g. En stadig bit med andra ord. Han är lugn av sig och lite klurig. Som ni ser på bilderna gillar han att ligga och lurpassa i gräset för att i nästa sekund komma fram och leka.

We have some new pictures of Mr Brown. He is now 3660 g and a very solid puppy. He is calm and funny. He likes to ambush my feet and chase me around the garden.

Sommarmorgon

Idag njuter vi av en perfekt sommarmorgon. Valparna har fått mat och en lekstund. Nu har de somnat bakom min grill. När vi tog första kullen efter Flexi bodde vi på ett annat ställe med trädgård i söder. Om man saknade en valp då kunde man alltid hitta den i djup sömn under eller bakom grillen. Så det är mitt bästa tips om ni har en valp hemma. Skaffa en grill som den kan sova bakom.

We are enjoying a perfect summer´s morning. The puppies have eaten and played for a while. Now they are asleep behind the BBQ which seems to be a perfect place to sleep since it was where we normally found missing puppies from Flexi´s first litter.

Zamora ligger oftast vid trappan och vilar. Då har hon utsikt över gården och alla som kommer och går. Vi har inte haft någon fungerande dörrklocka på många år för det behövs inte. Hon ger skall och man kan nästan höra på henne vem det är som kommer. Jag inbillar mig det i alla fall. 

Zamora`s favourite position is on the front porch where she has an elevated position with a good overview of anybody coming or going. Obviously a door bell is surplus to requirement.

Denna bilden är från igår. Mr Off White hade just vaknat upp från sin eftermiddagslur. Han stod still flera sekunder eftersom han knappt vaknat så jag fick chansen att ta en fin bild.

Mr Off White just woken up from a long afternoon nap. Still sleepy and not jumping around I managed to get a nice picture.

Miss Brown vaknade till av att jag tog bilder. Sedan somnade hon igen.

Miss Brown woke up when she heard me. Then she went back to sleep.

Mr White vaknade inte alls. Han bara sov vidare i eftermiddagsbrisen.

Mr White Tail

Mr White Tail föddes som nummer tre. Han är lugn, godmodig och gillar mat.

Mr White Tail was born as number three. He´s a calm, amiable boy. He loves a big bowl of the Royal Canine stuff.

Bilträning / Car training

Vi började med bilträning igår så att det skall vara naturligt att tillbringa någon timme i en bur i en bil under färd. Vi tog några valpar i taget och körde en tur till grannbyn. Flexi var med som stöd förstås. Varken Flexi eller Zamora har någonsin klagat under bilkörning och det är skönt att veta att det fungerar.

We did some car training yesterday with the puppies in order for them to get used to the cage and the sounds during travel. We loaded a few puppies and Flexi in the back of the Volvo and drove to the nearest village and back. We have never had any problems with neither Flexi nor Zamora during car travel. It´s nice to know before you set out.

Valparna hade somnat i buren när vi kom tillbaka.

Miss Brown

Vi börjar om från början och presenterar valparna igen med Miss Brown som är äldst av valparna först ut. Hon väger idag 2800 g och är lugn men lekfull. Det var inte så lätt att fotografera henne eftersom hon skuttar omkring hela tiden.

We are doing a round up of the puppies starting with Miss Brown who was born as number one. Her weight as of today is 2 800 g. She is the only female and she is calm but playful.

Mr Brown

Detta är Mr Brown. Han är en stillsam och eftertänksam ung man som utforskar trädgården bit för bit.

Mid Summer

Idag firar vi midsommarafton och valparna fick frukost i trädgården i morse. Efteråt lekte de en halvtimme. Så småningom började de söka sig tillbaka till sin valplåda för en tupplur. De blir alltmer rörliga och står på bakbenen för att bli utsläppta ur sin låda. Ibland hör man ett litet gläfs som börjar låta som ett skall.

Today we are celebrating Mid Summer in Sweden. The puppies had breakfast in the garden this morning and afterwards they played for half an hour. After playing they wanted to go back to the box for a nap. Their confidence is growing rapidly and they are standing up against the walls of the whelping box when they want to get out. You can hear a small bark and growl now and then.

I have stitched together some short clips from when they played in the garden.

Weaning

Yesterday we started to give the puppies solid food twice a day.

Igår började vi ge valparna hundmat som vi blött i vatten två gånger dagligen. Här ser vi Mr Off White.

Introducing Mr White Legs

The only puppy left to be introduced is Mr White Legs. The easiest way to find him among the other puppies is to look for a brown boy with white marks and a lot of white on the front legs.
He was the last to be born and he was out on the 24th of May at 09:00 in the morning. His weight was 438g and yesterday it was 2064g. An impressive weight gain.

This is Mr White spending some time with Hillevi. The puppies are not yet able to control their body temperature very well so they need to be kept warm.

Here´s a picture of Zamora, from Flexi´s first litter. She is not getting enough attention at the moment. She doesn´t seem to mind though.

Mr White

We have two more puppies to introduce and today it´s the penultimate one, Mr White. He was born on the 24th of May at 06:00. His weight was 439 g and yesterday it was 1892 g. The weaning is working very well. We are giving them solid food twice a day and their appetite is strong.

Chunky pups

The puppies are now approaching 2 kgs. That means they are four times the weight when born. They are able to walk a little and they can see. This means that they are running after Flexi all the time when she is in the whelping box. We have been weaning the puppies for a few days and they like the food so that will take some of the burden off Flexi.

Mr Brown

Born as number four is Mr Brown. He has few white spots only. The rest of him is brown. He was born in the morning at 4:06. He has gained weight steadily and today he is 1881g.

Sleeping in

They do like to sleep. And then one of them starts to stir and after a few minutes they are all awake searching for Flexi. One of them has passed 1500g with the rest close behind.

The great escape

Found three puppies fast asleep outside the whelping box this morning. They were probably looking for their mom when they got a bit tired. Flexi is resting outside the box normally since the puppies are adapting a routine of eating and sleeping in a one hour on one hour off pattern now. This lifestyle seems to be working very well. Today they are between 1200 and 1400 grams.

Mr White Tail

Born as number three he is now more than 1200 g and we call him Mr White Tail because the very tip of his tail is white just like his mother´s. He has got a brother with more white on his tail but with his very white legs he had to be named Mr White Legs.

Some of them are beginning to learn how to walk a little although their eyes are not quite open yet.

I have video where I took Mr White Tail out of the box for a while. He was immediately trying to navigate back into the box aided by the sounds made by his brothers and sister. I then put him back into the box and you can see him crawling towards his mother.

Eye opener

Today the puppies are beginning to open their eyes and we are introducing the puppy that was born as number two. We are calling him Mr Off White since there is another boy with slightly more white colour.

He was born at 01:21 on the 24th of May at 435 g. Today his weight is 1009 g.
