Good evening.

Just back from work in Gatwick. I went back to Lymington on the train. I like going on the train in England. Something very romantic and relaxing about it as long as you don't have to do it every day in rush hour. The train between Brockenhurst and Lymington is one of the few remaining slam door trains in the the UK. It's worth a trip if you haven't been on it.
Ulrika is here over the weekend so the puppies have had non stop TLC.

They like the old bicycle box.

A moment of contemplation.

Sleeping on a cosy blanket.

More relaxing.
Watching the guy with the camera.
This is supper with Flexi supervising.

All of the puppies seem to really like the Royal Canin Reproduction food.

We are giving them more and more and soaking it less and less. When they are seven weeks old they are going to be on non soaked solid food.
After supper nap on puppy blankets.
That's it for tonight.

Hello everybody.
Friday evening and it's been a lovely day. We went sailing in Mudeford Key today. The pizza dough is resting and I am relaxing with a rough and ready Cabernet Sauvignon from our local One Stop. I think I'll have another sip and use the rest to kill weeds on the driveway. Anyway, you have logged on to read about the puppies.

The puppies have been outside most of the day. Gianina is looking after them when we are not here.

They like wrestling. I get a bit worried when they seem to bite each other but that's what dogs do.

Focused crawling.
Sometimes they try marching like russians.

But there's also time for contemplation.
Tonight Ulrika, my wife, is coming back from Sweden. It's going to be the first time she meets her puppies.
There might be a days blog-gap in the weekend since I'm going to Gatwick tomorrow for a flight to Greece on Sunday
Cheers, Per

Hello.
Sorry, no post yesterday. We went to London and got home late. Today we have been here looking after the puppies all day. They like being in the garden playing. They play for about ten minutes. Then they will usually find a nice shady spot and fall asleep.

Sniffing the lawn.

Flexi is always in the vicinity.

More sleeping.

Finally a short puppy video.

Good evening.
Half term. Busy, busy. Camping on a boat last night. The children slept through the night but since it was cold enough to freeze the testicular area off a brass monkey my sheet wasn't enough to keep me warm. Then watching Monsters vs. Aliens at Lymington Cinema. Then cooking. How do housewives cope? Maybe it's because women are better at multitasking.
Nothing new with the puppies really today. I sent out an e-mail yesterday with information about contracts and the puppy selection process to some of the prospective buyers. I have had some very constructive feedback and I will probably be looking at simplifying particularly the puppy selection process somewhat.
We have had the puppies outside as usual today. They don't like the strong sunshine we usually have in the mornings down here in the south so we are offering good shades for them.
Quality time with mummy.

Sleeping in the shade inside an old bicycle box that the girls have recycled to form a playhouse.

A cuddle with Antonia.
I have material for a new video. I just need to edit it. Unless I take the children to London tomorrow I may be able to finish it and post it here. There will at least be new pictures.
Now for a good nights sleep in a warm bed.
Cheers, Per

Good evening.

Busy day today with many visitors. The puppies have spent most of the day outside sleeping and playing in the shadow of a big shrub.

Isn't this a great sleeping position? Look at the front paws.
Today we have also finalised the paperwork to the Kennel Club so that the puppies can be registered.

Hello everybody.

Today we are letting two puppies at the time get some quality time with Flexi in the garden. Hillevi is monitoring them all the time. The children are going to improvise a playpen for the puppies.
Enjoying the freedom.

Chasing the camera.

A little tickle.
They are walking pretty confidently even in the grass.

They are all hovering around two kilo now. Very strong and chunky and they are really beginning to look like dogs. They are eating well so all good.
Cheers, Per

Good afternoon.

Well what can I say? Another lovely day here in Lymington. I am on my way out on the Solent but first I am dropping my ten year old daughter off at the ferry. She is going on a camp on the Island. I have asked her many times if she really wants to be away from us for such a long time. After all it's three long days. She is very confident she wants to go. I suppose we'll have to cope.

We are feeding the puppies the paste we are making out of Flexi's food and water. Four times daily they are eating it and they have a very healthy appetite.

And then they sleep.

And sleep.

We are playing The Coast FM Radio in order to get the puppies used to various sounds. The children thinks it's cruel when the puppies are sleeping but it's apparently important and we are not using crazy volume at all. If you are really keen you can get a CD with crashing sounds and fire engines. I think I will settle for the soundtrack from Apocalypse Now Redux, Director's cut. And then I might treat them to Das Boot. Ping. All good stuff.

Good morning.

Lovely day here in Lymington. I am off to Palma so I'll be away the whole day. Gianina is going to feed the puppies solid food three more times today while I am working.

There is going to be a fair bit of newspaper changing as well today. A lot of business is being made on those newspapers. Here is one puppy in action shamelessly weeing on the floor. Good to see their digestive systems are working well.

They are keen to explore the world outside the box.

They are walking quite confidently as well now.
Right, got to run.
Cheers, Per

Good afternoon.
We are continuing the weaning and so far today we have done two sessions. They seem to like the food and they are very keen to eat. It's just the eating technique that needs a few days of fine tuning.

Flexi has been a bit reluctant to go into the welping box this afternoon. It's understandable given the ferocity of seven puppies simultaniously sucking milk from her. I have encouraged her so that she doesn't get overfilled teats. The puppies had a lot of food around 3.00 PM so they seem content now. Flexi is out for a walk.

Exhausted!
Cheers, Per

Tuesday, 19 May 2009

Good evening.
Major progress this evening. We thought we should try some weaning. Does that make us liberal weaners? Maybe, but that's not the point. The puppies seemed to love it so now we are going to feed them the paste we are making from Flexi's food four times a day. I think they are big now but in a couple of weeks they are going to be massive if they keep eating like this.
By the way the sailing was great. Going out again tomorrow. Living the dream.
Cheers, Per
Good morning everybody.

Today I was going to write a long post about pension systems in Northern Rock and if greed really works long term. I think we can all agree that deciding against writing such a post is a good idea.

Yesterday we tried putting newspapers in the welping box to soak up the puppy business they are starting to produce. There is a lot coming out of them now.
We soon found out it did not work very well. All the newspapers were immediately shredded. Not even the Sunday Telegraph could withstand the puppies shredding abilities. During the week we will find out if there really is any difference between the Telegraph and the News of the World.

The girls love to carry around one of the boys in this blanket.
It's been left with us to soak up puppie smell and it will follow
one of the puppies home.

They are all sleeping now around 9.00 in the morning.
I am going out now for a spot of sailing on the Solent. Is it over indulgent?
The answer is yes but you have got to enjoy the jet set life style while it lasts.
By the way, Gianina is here looking after the dogs.
Cheers, Per

Monday, 18 May 2009

Hello everybody.
Nice day here in Lymington. Very windy.
I have made a video out of footage from yesterday. There is no commentary this time. I hope the pictures speak for themselves. As you will see I still can't spell puppy correctly. Puppy, puppy etc. ten times plus five Ave Marias and ten backflips to hand stand should do the job.

So only a few days left before we are going to start wheaning the puppies on proper dog food. That will be interesting. Hopefully it is going to make Flexis' job a little easier. Maybe they will gain weight even quicker on proper food since there is going to be much more available. We will see.

Cheers, Per

Sunday, 17 May 2009

Good evening.

We have been out on our bikes in between showers. When we got back the puppies were sleeping in a peculiar formation that I have not seen before. Perhaps they were a bit cold.

A triangular puppy pile. My son has taught me how to spell puppy. I stand corrected.

This is taken from above. How can you sleep like this?
That's it.
Cheers, Per
Hello again.
Busy day yesterday hence no blog post. We had a few families visiting and we also went to see Fame at the Mayflower in Southampton. That was a brilliant performance.
We have weighed the puppies this morning and they are now between 1550 and 1700 grams.
Here is sitting nicely.
Learning to walk.

Chasing the camera a little bit.

Sniffing around.
The puppies are moving around much easier now and I think we will soon have our first escape from the welping box.
I can smell that their digestive systems are really starting to work as well.
So all good news.
Cheers, Per

Friday, 15 May 2009

Good evening.
I am back after sailing. The Friday pizza dough is resting so I took some pictures of sleeping puppies, again! Hope you don't mind.

Here is one dreaming of food.

ZZZZzzzzz

ZZZzzz

Practising to sit.

They are so neatly lined up here.

I really like this sleeping position.

More ZZZzzzz.
Cheers, Per

Hello again.

The puppies are still sleeping a lot but when they are awake they are increasingly active. They are trying to walk around the welping box and they are making real progress. It is a bit like Bambi on ice. Their eyes are open but they can not see properly yet.

They certainly know how to relax.

I am posting a lot of pictures with sleeping puppies. The reason is that it is too dark to get good pictures of them when they are moving around without using a flash. I do not want to fire a flash in their faces just yet. I have a new video with moving puppies in the pipeline though.

When they were born it was very important to keep them warm. Now the body temperature has increased so when they are sleeping during the day they are scattered all over but at night they still tend to sleep in a bunch.
That is it for now. I am off to Christchurch now to go sailing with a colleague.
Have a good Friday.
Cheers, Per
